Do you know that 'bed sore' can be a life-threatening disease? If you do not get treatment for bed sore in its early stages then it can be really painful and cause death as well. Or, you may suffer from skin disorders, infections and hazardous diseases like ulcers as well. 

What are the causes of Bed sore?

Bed sores are one of the very serious diseases that are generally prone to the people spending most of the time on bed or are immobilized due to some reasons. With bed sore disease, most of the body pressure is confined to the certain body organs like hips, heels, elbows, shoulder blades, etc.

One of the major and common causes of bed sores is the moisture generated from friction with bed sheets and sweating from the body.

What are the treatments of Bed sore?

Bed sore is not an incurable disease. There are several therapies that can cure bed sores and they are:

  • Herbal Treatment: During herbal treatment, herbal products like aloe vera are used. Herbal medicines, gels, creams and ointments are applied on the affected areas.
  • Self treatment: Minimize the pressure on the affected areas of the body. Keep that portion dry and clean. In worse conditions you may use bandages, dressings and other heeling methods.
  • Diet Control: Have nutritious food enriched with vitamins, minerals like zinc and other important health elements. Drink water as much as you can and avoid dehydration. This will help in strengthening the immune system of the body.

Bed sore is a serious disease and that is why one must not ignore it at any cost. Also, if anyone finds the symptoms of bed sore then he should consult the doctor as soon as possible. Last but not least; prevention is the best cure to stay active and healthy.
